Pawmi — Privacy Policy

Pawmi matches people with rescue pets in Malaysia. This page describes exactly what the app stores, who can read it, and how to remove it. It describes the app as built — not as intended.
What we store
- Your account — email address, and your name if you give one. Created when you sign up with email, Google or Apple.
- Your profile — display name, city, an optional photo, and the household answers you give at onboarding (home type, whether you rent, children, existing pets, time away from home, experience).
- Applications — the answers you write when applying to adopt, including your occupation and rough monthly budget.
- Saved pets, the pets you adopt, diary entries and photos you add, and health records you keep.
- Messages between you and a rescue about a specific pet.
Who can read it
- You. Your profile, saved pets, diary and health records are readable only by your own account. This is enforced by security rules on the database, not only by the app.
- A rescue you apply to — only that rescue, and only the application you sent them. They cannot read your profile, your diary or applications you made elsewhere.
- Pawmi staff — for moderation and support.
- Nobody else. The only genuinely public data in Pawmi is a pet listing a shelter has chosen to publish.
Photos
Photos you add to a pet's diary are stored privately against your account and are never used in a listing. A profile photo is visible only where the app shows your own avatar.
Location
Pawmi does not use your device location. "Near you" means the city you entered on your profile, and nothing else. The app requests no location permission.
Closing your account
Open Profile → Settings → Delete my account. This removes your profile, saved pets, adopted pets, and household answers.
Applications you have already sent are anonymised rather than deleted: a rescue needs its own record of who it placed an animal with. Your name, account identifier and written answers are removed from them.
Third parties
Pawmi runs on Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage and
hosting. Data is stored in the asia-southeast1 region. Signing in
with Google or Apple uses those providers' own sign-in flows; Pawmi receives
only your email address and display name from them.
There is no advertising, no analytics profiling and no third-party tracking.
Children
Pawmi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Adoption applications are made by adults.
